Christmas time

What a crazy Christmas season we had. I don't know how we made it through it all but we did.

Christmas Eve has always been lasagna dinner at home. We stayed in and played all day. She has been getting into my Tupperware cabinet lately. It keeps her busy while I try to do stuff so I don't mind too much.

Christmas morning she was up early and it's not like she even knew what the day was. We were up before the sun. She was confused with why she couldn't stop and play with each thing she unwrapped.

We went to Mesquite where she got lots of good stuff but neither of us took any pictures. Then on the road to Plano. She got a unicorn headband that she put on herself.

Friday was spent cleaning and organizing new toys while daddy put them together.

We got so many cool new things to play with, we don't know where to start in the morning.

Before Christmas we went on a big adventure to the Dallas Aquarium. She loved the waterfall and the jaguar. She matched the sting rays with her polka dot pants. When the weather is more appealing we will have to make a trip to the zoo.

Gob, gob

Thanksgiving has passed. We woke up and played some. We watched the parade, a staple of my childhood. We had to be at G's family pretty early and needed to get out of the house but she heard "coming up next, Sesame Street" and freaked out. We had to stay to see them. This is what happened.

As you can see by the picture she is big on baby dolls lately. We went to bed with three this past week.

I think she may be a girly- girl. That's ok by me.

We feed our babies too.

She is my mini-me who wears my shoes whenever she can and drinks from my water bottle.

What a silly girl!

She is big on animal sounds. She can tell you a turkey says "gob, gob" and many other sounds including dogs, cats and monkeys. She says so many words these days. She likes screaming "Lola" this weekend because she is in town with my sister. Her biggest word is "hotdog" because she loves the hotdog Mickey Mouse Club House dance. (God, help us all.)

Halloween 2014

Halloween year two went well. Abby was a bit confused by the whole process but seemed to enjoy it. She didn't want to wear her witch hat much but still looked cute.

We had a black out pep rally at school that day so I brought home glow sticks for her. She thought they were pretty cool. She also loves the zombies in the yard. She waves and says "hi" to them all the time.

The fireman came to the HOA's Halloween party and had a little parade through the neighborhood.  They came right by the house with the big hook and ladder truck. She enjoyed waving to them.

The school year is in full swing and kicking my butt. I love my kids but they wear me out so I look rough after a long day at school.

She grabbed my purse and her sunglasses the other day and told us "bye" and walked out of the room. My mini-me... When I picked her up from daycare today she had not one but TWO purses while she walked around the room. Totally mommy's girl who gets a love of handbags and shoes from her great-grandma.

She can identify many body parts which she does all. the. time. She will point to and tell you eye, mouth, nose, head, hair, toes, feet, belly button, ear, fingers and neck. She calls everything but bananas an apple.

This is a random from the day we got killed by Alabama. We (her and I) gave up and went for a walk instead of watching the slaughter. She's not so sure of being in the swing but seems to like walks.

Fall and such

It's been awhile. And a busy while.

We visited the pumpkin farm. She was unsure about the animals but liked the pumpkins. We even did the hay maze.  So very Gilmore Girls of us.

She had her second round of school pictures last week. She looks so grown up. When did that happen??

She loves art. She is always excited to color or paint and does a really good job of it too. She came home with some new decor on her shirt this month. She asked "please" in baby sign language and smeared it on herself.

Sleepy baby.

She loves to pull things out of bags.

We have some pictures lined up in a few weeks. We are also looking forward to Halloween. We are working on saying "trick or treat."

My world...

For as long back as I can remember in my adult life I wanted a Great Dane named Herman. It's what G and I used to talk about while we were dating. I never planned my kids names or any of that. I planned my life with my giant named Herman. G surprised me with that sweet pup for my 24th birthday/ 1st anniversary present. I came home late one night from class and there was this little black dude. There was no discussion, his name was Herman. He was everything to us. We took him everywhere.

He loved to cuddle.

He even cuddled with me during my pregnancy with Abby. When I had horrible morning sickness he was there.

And speaking of Abby and all things related, he was there during all of my struggles of that first year. He would sit at my feet as I fed her. I would pet him with my feet to take my mind off the pain.

His life changed dramatically after we brought home Abby but he was such a patient and gentle big brother.   The first week or so he would follow us every single diaper change or feeding. Even in the middle of the night.

As time went on and Abby became more mobile she would try to climb on him and cuddle with him. He was so good with her even when she was poking him in the eye.

In the end all of his nice behavior paid off. She loved him and would do anything for him especially throwing him food.

She loved to visit him in his kennel.

He loved everyone he met. Maybe too much for their liking and comfort. He never knew quite how big he was.

He was suddenly taken for me Friday, September 5th after a little over 6 years with us. He was with me through 6 very important years in my life. I will always love my sweet cheese-loving, butt-licking guy.

End of Summer

Summer went by so fast this year. It feels like I just got done with school and here I am back at it again. (6th year, by the way!) That means Abby is back at daycare. This year she is a Leap Frog. She's the only one not walking in her class so it's a bit rough for her. They play in the gym and she can't do much but watch. Although it may be harder on mom that she's not walking.

This was our end of summer swim! The last lazy Friday spent in the pool. She's come a long way this summer with her pool time. She loves the fountain!

Our early morning selfie on the first day of school. She had just gotten through with a bug she caught when we went to visit daycare. Whatever it was spread through all of us even landing Grandpa at the ER. And daycare said she didn't like to share.

And this weekend... Sick again. She's running a fever and over all ick feeling. Three weekends in a row of us being sick. It's getting rough.

And a few moments later college football put her to sleep.

I'm hoping she is not running a fever Tuesday because I need to be at school.

Her hair is in an awkward phase right now. Long in the back but not much in the front. It's hard to do something with and it almost always looks like Gary Busey. The struggle is real.
