Easter

What a busy Easter we had. Abby (or me) barely had the time to even visit the Easter bunny. She did wonderful and didn't even cry. There are some perks of daycare. 

We did both family Easter events on Saturday so that left us free on Sunday. She wasn't able to participate in any egg hunting this year. Next year she'll be ready to throw them 'bows and snatch some eggs. 

She was so tired on Saturday she passed out in minutes in the car. She was a bit sweaty from the weather too. 

The bunny dropped off some goodies Sunday morning. 

She got a Scooby interactive reader. When you read the story he talks to you. 

She picked this vibrating pig out over Spring Break on an adventure to Target. 

I wish this one wasn't blurry. Thanks, dad. 

We also ventured out to Calloway's on Easter to get flowers for the yard. She did pretty well but I had to hold her for about half of the time. During nap time we got the flowers planted and the yard is looking good. 

Busy bees

We are super busy with life around here. Abby is slowly getting closer to crawling or walking. Not sure which will happen first. She stands really well but really doesn't crawl well. She is very chatty. She has started making a "huh" noise. It's pretty funny. We are still working on our sippy cup. 

G turned 30 last Saturday and we had some balloons in the house. Abby loved them, Herman did not. I had to crop the dirty laundry out of that one. Saturdays are busy cleaning days around here. 

We tried to go out for lunch. As always she pooped on the way there and wanted no part of being out. I think there was too much action. 

G gave her my phone the other evening and turned on the camera for her and she took her first selfie. Not too bad. 

Miss A will be 9 months next week. We are getting closer and closer to the big one (and also summer). 

Day to day grindin'

It's nearly April and thank goodness! Summer is approaching and I can almost feel the sun on my face in the pool. We have just been chugging along around here. We have a pretty strict routine during the week.  Weekends are a bit more laid back but still more of the same. I really wish I could sleep past 6:30 again but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth here. Abby has been sleeping from 7:30 to about 6:00 every night. Naps are still a struggle. Except this nap where she drooled she was so out if it. 

We still have a fairly stationary baby. Part of me likes it that way the other part wants her on the move. She may be getting closer to crawling. She just really dislikes being on her belly while awake. She was doing some yoga for me yesterday evening. 

She gets several meals throughout the day. Bananas are still a big hit. Green veggies are more of a struggle.  She will only eat very select kinds of meat. She likes chicken but not all chicken diners. 

She has figured out what to do with a phone. She can't always get it to her ear but can get pretty close. 

We are rapidly approaching 9 months. And we have dad's big 3-0 birthday to look forward to this weekend. We will have to practice our singing this week. 

Eight months down, 4 to go

Abby turned eight months Saturday. She was a bit grumpy when I did the pictures. She needed a nap. She may not look it in these but believe me.

We are still in the everything in my mouth stage. 

Serious Nuk face. I think G was vacuuming so she was watching. 

She is still very into her pacifiers. She will have one in her hand and one in her mouth. She still loves bananas. No crawling yet but maybe soon. She is trying to crawl up in my lap when we play because she is still very clingy with me. If I leave the room there will probably be tears. She is getting to be ticklish under her arms and I can get her to giggle really well. We are about to move into size 4 diapers and are wearing a mix of 9 month and 12 month clothing. I am guessing she is around 20 pounds but I'm not sure. Her next check up isn't until next month when we hit 9 months. 

Our week

Spring break has come and gone. Abby and I loved every minute of it. It was much different that last year when we went to San Diego but I'll take it. 

Monday was a beautiful day and we went on a nice little walk and sat outside on the patio. Abby even had a picnic after grandma watched her a few hours. 

Tuesday we played all day and went on another long walk. I think she may have gotten a touch of sun this day even though she had a hat on. She helped me put dinner in the crock pot too. 

Wednesday was my friend's birthday so she spent a chunk of the day with grandpa. And boy was she crabby. I was trying to get ready and she kept trying to get my makeup brushes so I gave her one. Never too early, right??

Thursday was another big day at home. We ventured out to Target by ourselves. Big accomplishment for mom. She sat in the cart and looked around. We did another walk around the neighborhood too. There was also Abby and Herman time.  He's really great. He just sits there and takes it. 

Friday was a hair appointment for me but we ventured out after. We made a stop at Hallmark because she loves their singing animals. We now own a bunny that sings a jelly bean parody of the Macarena. She did wonderful out again in her Aunt inspired outfit. 

Saturday was 8 months and we went out for dinner in the rain. She did very well. We were both very proud of her. Now we are dealing with a case of the Sunday nights. Ugh, school tomorrow. Only 12 more weeks to go!

The cutest girl

We have the prettiest little girl ever. We had our very late 6 month photo shoot two weekends ago.  Some photos showed up on Facebook. I think she is adorable. 

She is a pretty baby who loves to be with her momma. She won't let me out of her sight. We had a snow (ice, actually) day this week. We got to spend Monday together. We were both pretty happy about it. 

We are on spring break this week. We will be doing lots of hanging out. We probably won't go anywhere since Abby is crabby most evenings. She is more of a morning gal. 

We are looking forward to being 8 months next weekend. I am hoping that she will start to crawl soon. She just rolls across the floor. 

Random things

Abby has been sleeping well lately. She figured out she could flip to her tummy. It only took 7.5 months. I now can see why people MAY do this more than once.

She loves any Hallmark talking holiday things. She has a Valentine's Day dog that sings that she loves. She freaks when she sees it until we press the button. She finally got to see the creepy hen that poops eggs. She seems to love it too. 

She fell asleep watching some tv the other day. 

She also decided that she really likes her dinosaur ball thing. She grabs the balls out of the top. 

In other Abby news, we lowered her crib today as she is getting bigger and stronger. It's really weird and I can't use our crib skirt anymore. Boo. I liked the chevron. She is still nowhere near crawling. She waits until toys are brought to her or rolls to them. She is going through a mommy phase (or so I hope it's a phase). If I leave the room or her eye sight she freaks out these days. We took (very late) 6 month photos last weekend. Thank goodness the weather was good unlike today. Although I hate this cold weather at least I can spend one more day with my little.
