Our week

Spring break has come and gone. Abby and I loved every minute of it. It was much different that last year when we went to San Diego but I'll take it. 

Monday was a beautiful day and we went on a nice little walk and sat outside on the patio. Abby even had a picnic after grandma watched her a few hours. 

Tuesday we played all day and went on another long walk. I think she may have gotten a touch of sun this day even though she had a hat on. She helped me put dinner in the crock pot too. 

Wednesday was my friend's birthday so she spent a chunk of the day with grandpa. And boy was she crabby. I was trying to get ready and she kept trying to get my makeup brushes so I gave her one. Never too early, right??

Thursday was another big day at home. We ventured out to Target by ourselves. Big accomplishment for mom. She sat in the cart and looked around. We did another walk around the neighborhood too. There was also Abby and Herman time.  He's really great. He just sits there and takes it. 

Friday was a hair appointment for me but we ventured out after. We made a stop at Hallmark because she loves their singing animals. We now own a bunny that sings a jelly bean parody of the Macarena. She did wonderful out again in her Aunt inspired outfit. 

Saturday was 8 months and we went out for dinner in the rain. She did very well. We were both very proud of her. Now we are dealing with a case of the Sunday nights. Ugh, school tomorrow. Only 12 more weeks to go!

The cutest girl

We have the prettiest little girl ever. We had our very late 6 month photo shoot two weekends ago.  Some photos showed up on Facebook. I think she is adorable. 

She is a pretty baby who loves to be with her momma. She won't let me out of her sight. We had a snow (ice, actually) day this week. We got to spend Monday together. We were both pretty happy about it. 

We are on spring break this week. We will be doing lots of hanging out. We probably won't go anywhere since Abby is crabby most evenings. She is more of a morning gal. 

We are looking forward to being 8 months next weekend. I am hoping that she will start to crawl soon. She just rolls across the floor. 

Random things

Abby has been sleeping well lately. She figured out she could flip to her tummy. It only took 7.5 months. I now can see why people MAY do this more than once.

She loves any Hallmark talking holiday things. She has a Valentine's Day dog that sings that she loves. She freaks when she sees it until we press the button. She finally got to see the creepy hen that poops eggs. She seems to love it too. 

She fell asleep watching some tv the other day. 

She also decided that she really likes her dinosaur ball thing. She grabs the balls out of the top. 

In other Abby news, we lowered her crib today as she is getting bigger and stronger. It's really weird and I can't use our crib skirt anymore. Boo. I liked the chevron. She is still nowhere near crawling. She waits until toys are brought to her or rolls to them. She is going through a mommy phase (or so I hope it's a phase). If I leave the room or her eye sight she freaks out these days. We took (very late) 6 month photos last weekend. Thank goodness the weather was good unlike today. Although I hate this cold weather at least I can spend one more day with my little. 

Seven Months

Oh, time flies when you're not sleeping. Abby is already 7 months old. More than half way through her first year with us. 

She's still quite the pacifier lover (Nuk brand only please). And she still loves her bananas. It must be the monkey toes. She is working hard at getting puffs into her mouth. Most of them end up on the floor but we are trying here. Too bad Herman isn't a crumb dog. If it's smaller than a Kraft Single he's out. She is sitting up really well and is starting to work her six pack a bit harder to sit up from laying down. She's still not motivated to crawl but why would she be? She gets everything she wants and then some. 

I occasionally stick my tongue out at her. She seems to have caught on. That's my kid who makes mouth farts and sticks her tongue out at people.

 

She was very sick on her actual 7 month birthday. She was running a fever and very congested. She seems better today. If only she would sleep. 

Baptism Weekend

Abby was baptized this past weekend. She only took two naps that day so I was a bit worried but she did great. 

My parents and sister came over early to drop stuff off and my sister brought presents. A very fancy Britney Spears meets Cabbage Patch kid wig along with other items. 

We got packed up and off to church. We got there early and could take some photos. We were also the only family there. A little awkward but nice.

This is one of my favorites. Always grabbing my hair. She did it during the ceremony too. She also serenaded us with mouth farts during the whole thing as well. Thanks, Abby. 

Good grief, we are old. 11 years and three kids later. 

Matt and Emily's youngest, Holden, was baptized the next morning. We had a busy weekend. 

While we were at church Abby was busy riding Gene. Thankfully she likes dogs and they don't mind her. 

Randoms

This was the third day back at school last week.  I felt the same way.  It's been a big transition back to the daily grind.

Half Birthday

Abby turned six months this past week.  She had to go to the doctor that same day for shots so she was not in the best mood for her photo shoot.  She got three different injections including a flu shot.  She is in the 99% percentile for her head size, 93% for height and only the 58% for weight.  We've got a skinny tall baby with a big head here.  I'm not too worried because bigger head means bigger brains, just ask her god father. 

We wouldn't give up our pacifier for the photo shoot either.  You can see some of the band-aids on her legs from her shots.  She was miserable when I picked her up from school that day but we got to go out and celebrate at Fuzzy's Tacos.

We are eating lots of different fruits and veggies.  She currently loves bananas much to her Daddy's dismay. She drained a whole container this week and was so happy while eating them.  The picture is actually her eating apples for the first time.  She makes that face no matter what it is.

She also loves her brother Herman.  She just discovered him in the past month or so.  I'm not sure he always feels the same way back.  He has no problem until she touches him, then he gets a little freaked.

We are working hard on sitting up.  She can do it but it's a bit hard because of her aforementioned big head.  We have big times coming up as she is getting baptized in February.
